Location and Access
Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands, is located approximately 48 miles north of Rotterdam. The cruise ship terminal is conveniently situated in the city center, with a deep berth section facing numerous canals. It’s just a 15-minute walk from Amsterdam Central Station and a 25-30 minute car ride to Schiphol Airport.
Getting from Schiphol Airport to the Port
Taxi and Rideshare: For groups, families, or those with lots of luggage, taking a taxi or rideshare directly to the port or your hotel is the most convenient option. Be sure to pre-arrange your pick-up outside the airport concourse, as taxi touts may attempt to overcharge.
Train: A direct train from the airport to Amsterdam Central Station is another option, taking about 20 minutes. Using a credit card to tap in and out is straightforward; just make sure to look for the ticket scanners in the concourse.

While there aren’t many shopping options at the terminal, Central Station is your best bet for retail therapy. The main shopping area is near Dam Square along the Damrak, just south of the station.
Getting Back to the City
Tram: You can take tram 26 back to Central Station or opt for a walk, which is straightforward and faster since you won’t have to wait.
Nearby Hotels: The Hotel Movenpick is conveniently next door to the terminal, with other hotels located around Central Station.
